Ankle & Foot arthroscopy
Ankle & Foot arthroscopy
Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat injuries and abnormalities within the joints. This procedure is commonly used to confirm a diagnosis made by physical examination and imaging techniques.
It can also be used to treat conditions within the joints. While ankle surgery once required an invasive open procedure that left patients with long hospital stays and recovery times, many of those procedures can now be performed with the simpler, less invasive ankle arthroscopy.
A person walking with pain in the ankle may need an ankle arthroscopy procedure.
Arthritis- post traumatic/osteoarthritis
- Arthroscopic debridement and synovectomy- removal of excessive lining tissue and damaged cartilage from the joint
- Joint realignment and preservation surgery
- Ortho-biologic treatment – PRP (platelet rich plasma), stem cell, adipocytes, visco-supplements
- Arthroscopic assisted ankle fusion- ankle joint is fused with screw /plates/rod to provide pain relief.
Cartilage injury
- Arthroscopic microfracture- creating micro-holes in the cartilage defect for healing.
- Osteochondral grafting- transfer of the small bone piece with normal cartilage from the normal area to the defect area
- Ortho-biologic treatment – PRP(platelet rich plasma), stem cell,adipocytes, viscosuplements
- Arthroscopic assisted ankle fusion- ankle joint is fused with screw /plates/rod to provide pain relief.
